This post is an actual email that I sent to all my Joint Venture partners, kind of a rant about what was on my mind at the time. I thought I’d share it here publically because I think you can benefit from it as well.
While the email focuses specifically on one of my Internet Marketing related products, I think the concept applies to any entrepreneur, internet marketer, or information marketer. The email follows below:
This is a rather lengthy email, but I think it’s well worth a read…
I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting in my business lately, and one of the questions that I asked myself is, “Am I worth more
than $27?”…
I thought I’d share my thoughts with you:
Many experts before me have said that the toughest challenge entrepreneurs have is that they don’t appreciate or value what they offer as much as they should.
I think this is especially true in internet marketing…
Case in point: My top selling Click Bank product 15K in 7 Days, priced at $27…
Think about that?
The step-by-step process…
of how I went from being bankrupt and working as a cashier at Wal-Mart, driving a car with no air conditioning in Florida to…
Working full-time from home with affiliate marketing, and earning Top 20 Status as a Butterfly Marketing Super Affiliate earning over $15,000 in 7 Days (more than my ANNUAL SALARY working 40 plus hours a week at Wally World)!!!
And I did it with a list of only 1300 subscribers to boot!
Isn’t that real world, real life, here is what I did, and how I did it, and how you can do it too… isn’t that worth more than a measely $27?
The really sick part is that before I launched that product back in June of 2007 I was considering selling it for less than that!
People like Tellman Knudson and Harris Fellman had to convince me that less than $27 would be a crime.
Everyday I continue to see sub-par products launched that sell at similiar or much higher price points, the same old recycled garbabe, the stuff that makes…
Okay, you get the point, I digress…
The point is, the biggest factor in determining our income and success, is our own mindset and the mindset of how we value ourselves and the value that we put out there.
You already knew that, but it’s nice to get a reminder every once in awhile.
Over the next few weeks I plan on increasing the price points (at least doubling) of all of my products.
If you’re one of my partners who are doing any type of autoresponder swap or integration marketing that means an automatic pay raise for you.
If we’re not currently doing any type of automated cross promotion or integration marketing let’s get in touch and see what we can do together that makes sense to grow our lists and our businesses.
Also, I’ll let you know when I plan on making any prices increases, it may make for a nice “the price is going up” promotion.
Thank for reading this email, I hope it made you think about the value that you give and whether or not you’re asking the marketplace to pay what they should be, rather than “giving it all away for $27″.
Sincerely,
![]()

That’s the end of the email, I hope you can try to think of some areas of your business (or even your personal life) where you may be undervaluing what you’re worth and what you have to offer.
Please feel free to share this site with others if you found it useful ![]()

Brian, you make a good point. If you price things too low, instead of seeing it as a bargain, some people will assume it’s not worth much. It’s interesting how sometimes a higher price results in more sales and fewer customer support issues.
You’ve convinced me that raising the price of my new product over at membershipsurge.com in a few days is the way to go. I’ll let you know how it works out.
