In this section I will provide links to tools and resources that I actually use in my online business - consider it my “Internet Business Toolbox”.
In the first section I will provide the Essential Internet Resources I use to actually run my internet business. The second section will discuss other tools, software, and electronics I use for business and personal use. I may even sprinkle in some things that I just use to make my life easier…
Essential Internet Resources
1. Domain Names
Of course you need to have a domain name (or several), it’s your address on the internet.
A very popular place to get a domain name is at Go Daddy. Nothing wrong with them, but I personally like Name Cheap at www.NameCheap.com because they give you free WhoisGuard protection with each domain you purchase.
Basically, WhoisGuard protection allows you to make all of your contact information private. This is usually an additional fee at other domain name registrars, including Go Daddy.

2. Hosting Account
If you’re domain name is considered your “address” on the internet, then your hosting account is your actual storefront. This is where you will put all the various pages for your website (your blog, squeeze page, about us page, etc.)
It is absolutely imperative that you own and pay for your own hosting account and not use some type of free or advertising based service…
The hosting service which I use for all of my domains is Host Gator.
What I like about Host Gator is that they have several features which are important to internet marketers, such as:
1. CPanel and Fantastico (don’t worry what this means for now, just know that it’s important)
2. You can host an unlimited number of domains on each account
3. You get more space (bandwidth) than you will probably ever need
4. They are extremely inexpensive and reliable

3. Autoresponder
Of all the internet marketing tools you will ever use, your autoresponder is the most important. It is literally the lifeblood of your business.
No matter how many visitors you get to your website or how big of a product launch you have, nothing can give you more repeat visitors and follow up sales than an autoresponder.
The only autoresponder that I personally use and recommend is Aweber.
I highly recommend you get an Aweber Autoresponder immediately after getting your domain name and hosting account to start building your list and following up with your website visitors.

Quicken 2008 Home & Business
Although I use an accountant to handle my official end of year taxes, I like to keep track of things myself. I personally use Quicken Home and Business 2008. I highly recommend this version because it has a great feature where you can link to your PayPal account to download and track all of your transactions.
