Running an online business from a cell phone?

For years I’ve been talking about how the internet really is a lifestyle business that you can run anywhere that you have a laptop and internet connection…

Then with mobile technology you didn’t need an internet connection like a wireless connection in a hotel… you could simply get a mobile card and connect your laptop to the internet anywhere there was a cell connection.

(Note: does anyone really work from their laptops while on the beach… getting sand in the keyboard has to be an issue!)

Now we can literally run our businesses from nothing but our cell phones! Well maybe not all parts of it but at least some key parts of it….

Road this post for example… I logged into Wordpress and made the post from my new Evo 4G phone, pretty cool huh?

Other key things I can do right from my phone include writing and sending emails, creating and uploading videos to my blog or YouTube, and building relationships on social networks like Facebook.

It’s amazing the freedom an internet based business can give you (not to mention how cool it is).

What are your thoughts about it. How have you used technology to grow your business and free yourself from the tethers of a cubicle, office, or home office?

  1. Hey Brian, Mark here attending your conference “5 Days in July”- which I am certainly enjoying! I can say without a doubt that I am excited about the ability to update my website from practically anywhere with just a cell phone. I still find that making a connection with the internet can be a tricky, frustrating, and costly ordeal while traveling.
The cell phone will be especially useful as I begin to incorporate Twitter and Facebook into my website and business.
    Thanks for the information!
