If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been nagging a lot lately about the benefits of using online video. (see the Online Video category of this blog)…
For the most part I’ve talked about the use of online video for lead generation, content delivery, as well as relationship building.
Another very effective (some would argue the most effective) way to use online video is in the form of viral videos.
The fact is, a good viral video can generate tens of or hundreds of thousands of views and visitor’s practically overnight.
When I ask most internet marketers and entrepreneurs why they aren’t using online video in their marketing efforts, the most common excuse, err I mean reason, is that because they don’t know how to. The second most common reason is because they can’t afford the equipment to product it.
What’s great about online video, is that we’re still at a point where it doesn’t have to be Network TV quality to get by, people are very forgiving in terms of the quality of production.
Even better than that, it seems with viral videos, the worse the quality the better!
The issue most people have with viral videos is: how to create a video that goes viral…
I mean, if you can’t even create a video infomercial or training video, how can you possibly create a video that is so good that it takes on a viral nature and gets passed on and gets a few hundred thouand views or more?
Charles Trippy, of The Next Internet Millionaire fame (an online video reality show, hint hint), has an answer to that question.

Hey Brian,
This is a great article. Plus, I know this has to be a great product since you’re so video saavy. Good on you! I think video is going to be all of it for a very long time.
This Trippy guy has a great video presence, and I can see why he succeeds. He’s fun to watch.
I’m sure there are lots of great tips in his product, too. Think I’ll buy it myself.
